The Mont Ventoux: the ultimate cycling challenge!

Whatever the weather, whatever the season, every single day you will find cycling enthusiasts making their way up and down Mont Ventoux. What is it that keeps them coming here?

There is no one simple answer to that question; but many cyclists point to the challenge, the nature, the weather or the atmosphere in combination with a slope "just like the pros get to ride". The charming Provence region, with its aromatic fields of lavender and tree-lined terraces, is also home to a gruelling mountain. If Provence is "the Beauty" then the Mont Ventoux is "The Beast". This "Giant of the Provence" that also bears the nicknames of "The Bare Mountain" and the

"Olympus of the Provence" is always an incredibly challenging climb, often unbearably hot, and sometimes extremely cold, windy and exhausting........ This probably doesn't sound very attractive at all .............. and yet, every season, you will find swarms of cyclists on its slopes. Here, they obviously find exactly

what they are looking for! From the apartment you can explore a wide range of cycling routes and approach the Mont Ventoux from all angles.

You should also try the route through "La Valleé du Toulourenc" or along "Les Gorges de la Nesque". We can also offer you a low-cost "taxi service" if you need to get to a particular spot.

Of course, not everybody is a Ventourist or a Ventousiast, but if you would still like to try one of the routes but don't have your own bicycle, no problem. There are plenty of places where you can hire one!.
